"We said there warn't no home like a raft, after all. Other places do seem so cramped up and smothery, but a raft don't. You feel mighty free and easy and comfortable on a raft." -Ch. 18

I feel this is true because when I am outdoors I feel like I can relax without having to worry about plans and working. Also, rafting would be very interesting. First post =) IH

I think the quote refers to how Huck feels about being free. Huck does not want to be confined to civilized life, but an unrestricted life, where there are no rules. It shows how boyish he is at this point in the book, and that he hasn't quite matured.

I agree with this quote. The raft represents basically whatever it is that a person uses to get away from their problems or just to relax and be alone. They can be whatever they want and no one can tell them no or that is not right. I love to get away in my car by myself and sing to the music. I let my worries and stress out by doing that.

I agree with this quote because I never feel quite right with people, but I feel at peace in nature by myself or with a friend. KS
