Point of View and Narrator

Why do you think Mark Twain selected Huck, a naive and illiterate young man, as the narrator of this book?

I believe that Twain uses Huck as the narrator to show local color. Twain shows how Huck was brought up with wild behaviors and customs. Twain also is able to show Huck mature though the thoughts that are only thought to Huck, himself. IH

I believe that Mark Twain uses Huck as the narrator because he is able to look at the world from a unbias point of view. Huck is able to see people for who they really are and has not been taught how to think. KS
