Happy Thanksgiving

I just wanted to take a moment and tell you that I count you among my many Thanksgiving blessings.  I hope you have a wonderful, restful Thanksgiving with those you love the most.  Please share a book or play that you feel has blessed/enriched your life and tell us why. (The deadline to post a response is Friday, November 29, 2013.)

Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (italicized) is one of the books that has enriched my life. I have read this book before when I was younger. I used to love Tom Sawyer because of his adventurous spirit. However, when I read this book in your class and you told us that Mark Twain said you should read it twice in life (when young and old), I realized that people change as they grow. Instead of being destructive, they grow to make the appropriate choices.

I agree with Brittney about HUCK FINN being an excellent book full of many hidden and valuable life lessons. A book that I have been reading more recently shares the same aspect. EAST OF EDEN has enhanced my prospective on life. The characters feel so real, so what they say seems applicable to real life. Also, the book provides a more modern take on Genesis, which is full of moral stories. Not only is the book well-written, but it also makes me think.
